Learning how to play the guitar can be so worth it, in a few different ways. Whether it’s just for fun in the garage or with goals of having a professional career and being a star, learning how to play the guitar is a wonderful thing because it allows people to relieve their stress and express their creativity and emotions. For those who have just started learning how to play the guitar and others who are already experienced, it’s important to keep the guitar properly tuned. This is going to ensure that the songs you play sound right so you can play your best.
There are just a few important guitar lessons tips that you should remember when it comes to tuning your guitar. Once you start to get the hang of it you’ll see that it really isn’t as hard as it seems. Make sure that when you’re tuning your guitar you start with the top and thickest string, the low E. Because it’s the thickest string it’s usually not that hard to tune and you probably won’t have to tune it much because it’s the least likely to detune itself.
This is also known as the fifth string. After the low E you tune the A, then D, G, B and finally the high E which is the string at the very bottom. Once you have practiced tuning your guitar a few times and are good at starting from the low E string you can start by tuning the A first instead. This is a more accurate method because you can then tune the low E in accordance with the A by going back a perfect fourth from the A, but is not a method that novice guitarists should attempt.

You could also hire a professional tuner to tune your guitar if you felt more comfortable with that. If you really don’t feel comfortable tuning your guitar yourself you can always have it professional tuned but this is a skill that you should definitely work on if you want to be a guitar player. If you can’t manage to tell what sounds right for tuning, surely you’re playing your songs off key as well.
Remember, in many cases the real reason that most new guitarists sound bad is because their guitars simply aren’t tuned properly. They may think that they’re just not getting the hang of things and are a bad guitar player when in reality it may be nothing more than a problem with tuning. The more frequently you play your guitar, the more likely the strings are to detune and so it can vary from one person to the next.
